When you are providing for a workforce of over 3000 employees, the most challenging aspect is trying to be all things to all people.  In a commercial gym, people purchase a membership because they buy-in to your concept whereas in a corporate facility you are catering for a much broader cross section of the population in terms of their fitness…

When you are providing for a workforce of over 3000 employees, the most challenging aspect is trying to be all things to all people.  In a commercial gym, people purchase a membership because they buy-in to your concept whereas in a corporate facility you are catering for a much broader cross section of the population in terms of their fitness preferences.  This however allowed us to be very creative in designing our programmes, and challenges, it also allowed us to add classes you wouldn’t normally see your average gym timetable such as ‘Laughing Yoga’, ‘Bollywood Dancing’, ‘Acro Yoga’, ‘Hulahooping’ and develop clubs such as a dance squad for internal events.

Impact:

Over the course of the 3 year contract, employees lost over 2,500kg of body fat, people who had never been inclined to use fitness facilities before became regular gym users.  An inclusive community was created with utilisation rates 15% above international norms.
